Tattoo Removal FAQs

Can anyone receive laser tattoo removal?

Yes; unless you have a tan or you are currently on photosensitive medications. Please always check with us about any medications you are currently taking or will be taking. Avoid sun exposure prior to and during all of your laser tattoo removal treatments.

How long do I have to wait in between my treatments?

Each tattoo varies, but the first few treatments will be set 4 weeks apart. After 3 or 4 sessions (depending on your reactions) we will then schedule your appointment every 8 weeks.

What does laser tattoo removal feel like?

Most people describe the pain like a rubber band snapping on the skin, or grease splatter. Everyone’s reactions to laser tattoo removal are all different, but it is tolerable. Following treatments the area may be red, swollen and feel like a sunburn.

Are there any numbing options for me?

Yes! Prior to and during your laser treatment we incorporate our Zimmer 6 Cryo cooling system to help soothe your treatment. You also have the option to purchase our numbing gel or spray to use with your treatment. Gel numbing requires 45 minutes of application prior to your treatment and the spray is 90 second instant numbing. Ask your technician which option is best for you.

What if I do not want my whole tattoo to be removed?

No problem! You can do however many treatments needed to lighten/fade your tattoo for a great cover-up! We suggest talking to your tattoo artist first to see if they can do what you want after getting your ink lightened.

Can scarring happen?

Blistering can happen to some tattoos at different stages of any removal progress, but as long as you do not pick at the area being treated, there should not be any scaring or marks of any kind once your tattoo is removed. Scarring is a possibility depending on your skin and how you take care of your tattoo after your laser treatment, but there are things you can do to minimize your chances.

Will my tattoo remove completely?

Yes! Tattoo removal is a process that takes time, if you are willing to be patient with the treatments and listen to our professional recommendations, you will have successful tattoo removal in the end. It may take a few to as many as 25 sessions depending on each unique tattoo.

What is the cost of removing my tattoo?

Each tattoo requires a different amount of sessions depending on its color and size. We do not charge for ink that is not there. During your consultation we will measure your tattoo and inform you of different payment options to suit your removal needs. Sending in a picture of your tattoo will allow us to give you an estimate, but please be aware that it is only an estimate and can change upon measuring.
